Our goal is to get BOTH you and your child your healthy sleep while focusing on the ROOT cause of your sleep challenge. Therefore, we get to know you and your little one well and then make suggestions based on your specific daily reality. Here is how we work with you:
Step 1 | In-Depth Assessment:
After you submit the inquiry form, we start with a comprehensive assessment - a set of questions to learn everything about your child and family, including a 3-day sleep and feeding log.. We’ll help uncover the root cause of your sleep challenges—no “bad habits” here, just a thorough understanding of what your little one’s sleep needs are.
Step 2 | Building your Unique-to-You Sleep Plan:
During your first consultation (50-minute video call), your sleep consultant will talk to you about their interpretation of what is causing your sleep challenge. They’ll discuss possible strategies and their viability based on your family’s values and your child’s unique sleep patterns, temperament, and needs. With your input, you’ll leave the meeting with specific practical strategies to work towards your sleep goals.
Step 3 | Implementation Support:
You meet (on a secure platform video call) weekly with your consultant over 4-6 weeks to refine and implement your plan. How many follow-up sessions you need depends on your goals and starting point. You and your consultant make this plan together during your first consultation (step 2).
Breastfeeding and co-sleeping families love our flexible, practical approach that encourages you to keep the practices you love while changing the things that don’t work for you anymore.

Parent Coaching and Therapy
Starting at $200 CAD per session
In the heat of those toddler tantrums, have you ever wondered if there is an easier, less stressful way to say no to your little one? There is, and it’s not hard or complicated; it’s new to you. Or maybe you’ve been dreading a big transition (like a new sibling or starting daycare) because you think winging it will screw it all up before you get started?
You’re not alone.! No, literally! Little kids' brains are still in developmen,t which means they have all the feelings but the skills to manage them in a helpful way,, are simply not there. Now, if you’re like most parents nowadays, you are not exactly sure how to handle them healthily, either because the adults you grew up with simply resorted to sending you to your room, punishment, yelling or maybe even hitting. You swore you wouldn’t do those things except…what are the other options?!
That’s where we come in to support you. Parent coaching sessions with our specialized infant and child mental health therapists give you a person (think parenting fairy godmother) to ask all your parenting questions, gain tailored-to-your-situation strategies, and get the support you need to make big positive changes for your family. (That includes learning ways to parent with your partner when you disagree! 😉)

Did you know...
Your child’s brain won’t fully develop until they’re in their mid 20s?
It’s true–by age 3, your little one will have developed 80% of their brain. And by age 5, 90% will be developed. And while that seems like a majority of brain power is present, the skills are not (as can be attested by anyone who’s ever been around young children). You may feel like you're doing something wrong when your child "isn’t listening," throws a tantrum, or ignores your requests completely. You aren't doing anything wrong and neither are they. There’s just a tiny bit of translation hiccup between the two of you, and here’s why...
Children are the most misunderstood people on this planet, but only because their brains work differently. You see, your child’s emotional brain is present. But that executive brain (the one that controls impulsivity, prioritization, flexibility–those frustrating things) is still developing. And tends to leave them a bit—well, spicy. Mischievous, if you will.
All that spicy, mischievous, emotion-filled behavior can leave you feeling….
Overwhelmed with your toddler's tears and frustration or that random childhood memory that keeps popping up–causing your own tears and frustration. Deep deep want to hide under the covers with a snack and cry.
Wondering how the hell they manage to push every button you have, making you consider all those parenting techniques on your “not doing” list
Walking around your house like a zombie –because you haven’t slept more than 30 minutes at a time for the last six months, your todo list is longer than your arm, and your brain has turned to mush
Wondering what the heck you’re doing wrong and how you screwed it up this bad–because all this chaos, stress, anger, frustration, and despair can’t be a “normal” parent thing.
Mental Health Early On, is Mental Heatlh Later On.
Disrupted Sleep Unexpected Anger. Frustration in play. Anxiety with change. Hopelessness in learning. Parenting Struggles. Disrupted Sleep. Resistance to change. Separation Anxiety. Explosive or aggressive behavior. Won't listen.
It’s all a part of your child’s (and your) growing up journey.
Have you ever watched your child playing, and some struggle pops up, and they get upset? Then when you go over to help them work through the struggle, randomly a not-so-great memory pops up of yourself in a very similar situation as a child. Those memories aren’t always good (although sometimes they’re great), but these memories definitely remind us of how hard navigating life as a child can be.
And let’s be honest–if you were raised by emotionally immature and or dysregulated adults you were never taught the skills necessary to regulate your own emotions. You may have watched all the TikToks, read all the books, and googled everything you can think of–but implementation never well…implements. So when those immense moments pop up while parenting your little one, you might not be able to tap into those parenting strategies you want to utilize.
Talkin' Sleep Ontario is built to be the stepping stone you need to learn the skills you need to regulate yourself, so you can help your little one(s) regulate, too! So let’s come together and help you uncover some strategies and understanding to help you raise amazing resilient kiddos!
Sleep Consultations start at $430. Our plans typically require 4-6 weeks of ongoing sessions so the entire consultation process will cost up to $1810 (sometimes more, depending on your needs). Some benefit coverage plans cover session costs in part or in full. There is no guarantee that your specific benefit plan will cover Talkin' Sleep Ontario sessions. Please contact your benefits company to verify your coverage.

How does insurance billing work?
The cost for your consultation is due after each session. Once your session is completed, we issue a receipt with the required license information and signature which you can submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement. We do not currently bill insurance directly.
Are there any out-of-pocket costs associated with your clinic?
After each session you will be billed directly for the cost of your session. You will then be able to send the invoice to your benefit provider for reimbursement. There is no guarentee of coverage, and sessions that are covered may be in part or in full.
