Talkin' Sleep

Toddler Sleep Essentials is an on-demand course that helps you understand the why behind your toddler and preschooler’s biggest sleep struggles and finally make your struggle-free bedtime routines and restful sleep dreams come true.

🔊Attention: The Sleep Game Has Changed!

Now that your toddler can fight–navigating bedtime just got a lot harder.

When it comes to toddler and preschooler sleep –the strategies and knowledge from baby sleep get thrown right out the window! The thing is, strategies for baby sleep are reactionary–they need you for their physical needs to be met. BUT now that your child is officially beyond the baby stage–that’s all changed and emotional needs are the new big thing! But that does NOT mean sleep is even further away from reach.

Not yet--I need more kisses!

Cup of water, please!

No, I need a snack first!

Your little one now has a laundry list of reasons bedtime is no longer on the schedule.

Which may leave your feeling like…your child is a behavioral asshole (but they aren't!) Testing your patience is a toddler’s job–or at least it feels that way. Fighting you at bedtime, having apparent hearing problems when you make requests, finding something that must be done-right now (and it's not getting ready for bed–the list just keeps going. So yes, it feels like calling them an asshole is the way to go! 🤣)

But the reality is...

Toddlers and preschoolers are at the start of becoming their own individual selves.

And they are barely scratching the surface of understanding or communicating their needs or big emotions. The world is fascinating and big–so that, in turn, comes with anxiety, emotional dysregulation, and more. Not to mention, the night is now filled with new fears, nightmares, or monsters under the bed. So what feels like purposeful annoyance is really them experimenting with boundaries, exploring the world around them, and communicating fears (and when you just want them to...go...to...sleep! that can be extremely frustrating.)

As a super tired parent–you really just want..

A smooth bedtime routine that doesn’t last hours, and allows your little one to peacefully fall asleep without resentment or stress.

No more middle of the night wakes, you believed these would be over by now, but you need sleep and so does your little one...

For your toddler to sleep independently, feeling safe and secure in their own bed. Meaning you get that quality time with your partner or have designated “me” time.

To say bye to unpredictable or missed naps and know confidently your toddler is getting the sleep they need

To know exactly what to expect at each age and stage so you can set realistic expectations and rest easy knowing exactly how to maximize sleep.

Module 1: Toddler Sleep Foundations

In some ways–as a baby your little one ruled the nest. Now it’s time to step into your role as leader of your home! 1 - 5 year old's thrive on routine and structure, so in this module we will cover what you need to understand your little one’s unique needs, your role as a parent, and how to make changes as your child's and family's needs change. Kids are growing fast– and have lots of explosions and feelings that seem to be detonating at super speed. You want to respond to crying but sometimes it can feel confusing and overwhelming and you find yourself practicing unsustainable routines. So we’ve included essential lessons that help you get understand your child, get cooperation and essential toddler parenting skills because these are at the foundation of solid sleep. That way you can learn to understand and respond to their emotional needs as they pop up while empowering them with age appropriate independence and yourself with much needed free time and confidence.

TLDR: Learn what your little one's disrupted sleep, explosive behavior and BIG Emotions mean and how to navigate them effectively.

How many times have you seen a sleep course guaranteeing results if you just “follow the schedule 100% of the time and really commit to the process.” Yeah–that’s not realistic (not to mention problematic.) Those promises can’t possibly account for your toddler’s loves and dislikes. There's just too many individual factors to consider! That’s why in the first lesson of this module we’ll help you know exactly how to create the best sleep schedules and wake windows for your unique family.

Let’s not forget those impending nap transitions– Maybe your toddler obviously needs their nap, but keeps resisting it. Maybe it’s the opposite. Either way, it’s a BIG transition and we want you to be prepared. So we have lessons dedicated to each of the big nap transitions to include switching it all up into an independent quiet time instead of nap.

TLDR: Understand what is typical at your toddler and preschoolers’s age and stage, build a routine that works for your family, AND learn how to adapt as things evolve.

If you’re frustrated with how things go down at bedtime, odds are your toddler is, too! Nobody needs to wake up frustrated from the night before. That’s why, for many parents, this module is THE module to watch. Each module in this section addresses a different sleep concern. From reducing nighttime wakes to handling sleep resistance, we’ll resolve wakes and delayed bedtimes by focusing on the root cause—never asking you to just "let them cry."

TLDR: Build nighttime routines with you little one that you actually enjoy.

No one loves independence more than a 1 - 5 year old and no one is ready for it more than their parent! You can begin to transition out parts of your sleep routines that no longer work for your family. These gentle and responsive transitions allow you both to move to more meaningful routines that you both love while getting your child to fall asleep on their own (if you want them to) and in their own space (if you them want to).

TLDR: Get your child to sleep independently (finally)!

Sound like the sleep revolution you've been dreaming of?

Does this sounds like what you need –but feel on the fence?

Being a data driven person myself–I want you to have all the details to help you make the best decision for you. So we looked at all the families we’ve helped over the years and found that toddler Sleep Essentials will be perfect for you if….

Your parenting style would be considered authoritative, responsive, respectful, natural or gentle and you don’t want to fall into the routines of your parents because well...that sucked!

You want to know you are getting your little one healthy sleep and supporting their optimal development but you're just not sure what that means in real life

You want to parent using your intuition but need some extra encouragement because parenting is eff-ing hard!

Doing what’s best for your child is THE priority and you want to confirm that what you've done so far is on the right track–and if not how to adjust to make that happen.

For the record I think you’re doing great because you’re here! By researching and taking the time to make sure this is the right place for you means you’re already on the right track.

Bottom line: Yes! Toddler Sleep Essentials Course is designed to help you guide your toddler to their best possible sleep by focusing on identifying and resolving the root cause of your sleep woes, setting realistic expectations, and establishing boundaries and loving limits. Such as their environment, expanding knowledge of their own unique personality and needs, having realistic expectations, balancing household schedules, and identifying the reasons for sleep disruptions. That being said–the allied healthcare provider in me has to add–if there is a known medical issue that is causing a sleep disruption, treating the condition should be your first step in this process.

Absolutely! As much as this course is not designed for any specific neurotype in mind, and is for all children–it does resonate a lot with parents who are either neurodivergent themselves or their children are neurodivergent. The ability to build and create what works best for your family combined with the understanding and knowledge of how your child thinks is in perfect alignment with the sometimes chaotic changes each day brings.
